A considered kitchen by Young & Norgate

It was a real pleasure to work with Laura on photographing this beautiful kitchen by Young & Norgate. A space that was a joy to spend time in, and one that really rewards a closer look.

What I particularly enjoy about photographing interiors like this is discovering the details that make a project feel complete. The relationship between materials, the precision of the detailing, the way the light moves through the space, and the quality of the craftsmanship. Nothing feels arbitrary. Every decision has its place, and together they create something that feels both quietly confident and beautifully resolved.

For me, the most compelling interiors are rarely about a single statement. They’re about how everything comes together from the balance of proportion, texture and form, and the thought that sits behind even the smallest detail. It’s these qualities that make a space interesting to photograph, and that I always look to bring through in my images.

Young & Norgate have a wonderful understanding of this. Their approach to design is thoughtful and refined, with a clear appreciation for materiality, craftsmanship and the finer details. The result is a kitchen that feels timeless without being predictable, considered without feeling overworked, and as beautiful in its details as it is as a whole.

A big thank you to Laura and the team for such an enjoyable shoot, and for creating a space that was a genuine pleasure to photograph.
