the shingle house - award winning home
I was absolutely thrilled to photograph the Homebuilding & Renovating house of the year, Grand Design shortlist house of the year & riba south west award for home of the year 2025, and even more excited to celebrate a front cover.
This incredible project began as a tired mid-century bungalow in Bath and has been transformed into a breathtaking, shingle-clad, eco-conscious family home.
Perched on a peaceful wooded hillside with sweeping views across Bath and out to the Severn Estuary, it’s no surprise the judges were instantly captivated.
bolo cottage - A Gentle Modern Touch
Set amidst the tranquil charm of rural Wiltshire, this modest thatched cottage has been thoughtfully reimagined through a sensitive renovation and extension. The design honors the cottage’s historic character while introducing subtle contemporary comforts and a clarity of space that feels both natural and unforced.
Traditional materials are employed with refined restraint, allowing new interventions to sit harmoniously alongside the old. Formerly enclosed rooms now open into light-filled spaces, where carefully placed openings invite the surrounding landscape to become part of the home’s interior life.
Here, past and present coexist with quiet elegance. The timeless character of the original cottage endures, wrapped in the warmth of natural textures, while the new additions bring a sense of openness, calm, and understated sophistication. It is a home that feels simultaneously like a refuge and a fresh beginning.
banjo beale - Character in every corner
Bathed in colour, character, and quiet confidence, this beautifully renovated Georgian townhouse is unmistakably Banjo Beale.
Every room carries his signature sense of mood, layered, thoughtful and unafraid to make a statement while remaining deeply respectful of the building’s historic bones. Rich palettes sit comfortably against original proportions, creating spaces that feel both dramatic and welcoming.
There is a natural rhythm to the house, moments of bold expression balanced by calm, considered detail. Pattern, texture and art are woven together with a playful intelligence, giving the townhouse a lived-in warmth rather than a polished formality.
It’s a home that feels curated but never contrived, a reflection of Banjo’s personality, where design is intuitive, expressive & entirely human.
august collection - Curated Across Continents
Travelling across Europe with the August Collection, I was invited into some of the continent’s most beautiful and meticulously curated homes. Each project offered its own story, a unique dialogue between space, light, and design, from grand, historic residences to contemporary retreats that felt quietly sculpted.
The Collection’s vision is unmistakable: a celebration of elegance, personality, and the art of thoughtful living. Across every location, I found moments of intimacy amid grandeur, textures that whispered, and spaces that breathed. It was a journey not just through buildings, but through mood, craftsmanship, and the extraordinary diversity of European design at its finest.
Working with the Collection offered a rare opportunity to explore these remarkable homes across Europe, capturing the subtle interplay of light, texture, and atmosphere that makes each one truly unique.
emberwood - michelin guide award
Emberwood at The Francis Hotel, Bath marks an exciting new chapter in the city’s dining scene. Set within the newly refurbished Francis Hotel, Emberwood combines refined design with exceptional culinary craft.
The restaurant’s atmospheric interiors, featuring rich tones, intimate booths, and a striking central bar provide a sophisticated backdrop for both everyday dining and special occasions.
At the heart of Emberwood is an open charcoal hearth, where Executive Head Chef David Hazell presents a menu that celebrates the very best of South West produce. Seasonal ingredients are transformed into flame-kissed dishes that showcase both creativity and respect for provenance.

8 holland st - Charlie Sheppard
It was such a pleasure to photograph Charlie Sheppard’s beautiful work at the 8 Holland Street Townhouse in Bath especially his striking mosaic coffee tables, crafted with handmade glazed ceramic tiles.
These pieces are part of the exhibition - CHARLIE SHEPPARD: SOUTH FACING, a stunning showcase of new mosaic works spanning from furniture to large-scale murals.
The exhibition takes its name from the heliotropic movement of plants, which follow the sun’s path through the day. Charlie’s floral mosaics capture this beautifully with their vibrant characters stretch to the edges of frames, shimmer with rhythmic patterns of shards, and send long stems arching gracefully across canvases.
Through his choice of colour, botanical inspiration, and the playful personalities woven into each piece, the show becomes a joyful celebration of the Bath garden Charlie grew up in.
the pool house - exceptional traditional craft
What an exceptional achievement this building is and I was thrilled to be part of the project, capturing its elegance and beauty.
As the first light of morning washes over the Wiltshire countryside, this incredible new pool house barn glows in soft gold sunlight. Traditional red brick walls radiate warmth against the summer air, while the stone tiled roof catches the light with quiet perfection. Oak beams stand proud, lending a timeless strength, and slender cast-iron doors add a touch of understated elegance.
Crafted by The Traditional Carpenters, every joint is precise, every detail intentional, the kind of workmanship that makes you pause and truly take it in. Here, tradition and modern comfort meet seamlessly through the timber, while the future feels entirely at home.
A modern building, yes, but with the soul of something that’s always belonged. What do you think? This one gave me goosebumps!
